Introduction

The performer will be conducted in a symphony of emotion.

Description

Each of the performers is assigned an emotion by the host. There should be a wide range of emotions. For example, angry, happy, sad, smug, frustrated, etc. The hose should avoid having emotions that are too similar. It is a good idea for the host to recap which performer has been assigned which emotion.

The host then conducts the performers by pointing at them. When a performer is being pointed at they must “express” their emotion. The intensity of the emotion is determined by the height of the conductor’s hand. If the conductor’s hand is low to the ground the performer will be mildly anger. If the conductor’s hand is raised as high as possible the performer will express extreme anger. When the host points a different performer another motion takes over and the previous emotion quiets. Hence the host “conducts” the performers in a symphony of emotional utterances.

To get the most fun out of this handle the host should move from emotion to emotion creating a rhythm. Higher level emotion are not necessarily louder emotions. Try to avoid replacing emotion with volume.

This handle is laid out for emoting without words. A host may also assign a word or a name that each performer uses as dialogue to express their emotion. The challenge for the host here is that set up can take a bit of time.
